1. Melissani Cave Lake

Here we go with the top beautiful natural lake of the world and it is the Melissani Cave lake situated on an island of Kefolonia and is surrounded by forests, mountains and sea. The colour of the lake is sky blue and the stones found beneath the lake are brown in color. 2. Plitvice Lakes

So the third on our list is the ever mysterious and beautiful natural lake called Yucatan Cave Lake situated in Tiger Che in the Yucatan Peninsula in the Northern Mexico and is around 2 million years old. The lake infamous for interesting myths and stories is a famous tourist attraction with frozen fountains, dry riverbeds, underground spaces and many more beautiful and worth discovering sights. The cave is made up of limestone and the local dwellers believe the lake to be forbidden as they belong to the Maya gods.

4. Lake Matheson

Lake Matheson, the next beautiful natural lake is yet another glacial lake. It is situated near the Fox Glacier is found in South Westland in New Zealand and is surrounded by Mount Tasman and Mount Cook. The glacial lake which was formed some 14,000 years ago is home to a variety of flora and fauna including eels and water birds. Surrounded by White and Red Pine trees, this lake is undoubtedly one of the most sought tourist attractions.

5. Peyto Lake

Let’s go down to Canada to visit the next beautiful natural lake on our list. It’s the Peyto lake having a peculiar characteristic of turning  bright green color during summer season which makes it all the more beautiful and worth seeing and thus a famous tourist spot for sightseeing and taking photographs. The lake which was named after Bill Peyto who was a trapper and a guide in the Banff National Park where this lake is situated is a glacial lake and looks the best when seen from Bow Summit- the highest point on the Ice field Parkway.
